Just a little summin...
...I boosted from cuissesdefer
1. Are you named after anyone? If so, explain.
Well, my mum, ever a fan of tabloids, was reading a New Idea and there was a fictional story in there about some chick called Irissa...she really liked the story, and the name, but not how it was spelt. She then told her mum, who promptly told her that that was the name of her aunt (my nan's aunt, my mum's great-aunt, and my great-great aunt), except that her name was spelt with one 's' and not two. Hence, Irisa came about.
2. Do you have your children's names picked out already? If so, is there any significance?
I really like Phoenix. I feel that it is a feminine name though, yet the Phoenix is a male bird. So, I dunno. Depends on how the kid is when it drops out. If its a boy, and looks like he would be 'Phoenix', well, there you go. Same deal for a girl. I also like Banjo for a boy. And Osirus. And Breyden. Dunno what I would call a girl. I like etheral names for girls...dunno, No girls names have ever struck a cord with me.
3. If you were born a member of the opposite sex what would your name have been?
Zachary or Isaac. Yick. Mum was high on hormones at that point I believe.
4. If you could re-name yourself what name would you pick and why?
No idea. It took me a long time to warm to the name I have, so Im not going to change it too soon. I have never really thought of giving myself another name.
5. Are there any mispronunciations/typos that people do w/ your name constantly?
Hello?? I live in Australia where no one has any concept of anything other than Blue, Sheila, or the like...they cant really grasp the concept of the pronunciation of something slightly against the norm. So, Ive had (spelt how the person pronounced it): Larissa, Marissa, Eresa (?), I-rice-a, I-lisia, Alicia, Pardon? (when I said what my name was, that was all they said...lol), Elissa, Lissa, Lisa...that's all I can think of at the moment. Yeah, so I pretty much react to anything with "isa" on the end, 'coz people get the shits when you correct them *sigh*. But then, the people who end up mattering to me can actually say my name first go. Go figure.
